Karmen has three decades of communications and marketing experience helping brands build trust, launch products, and foster meaningful connections with customers and employees. She’s led communications and marketing strategies at top companies like Starbucks, Expedia, and Boeing, shaping their corporate reputation and driving growth with creative solutions.
Karmen is a trusted advisor to C-suite execs, guiding strategic initiatives and delivering results. Most recently, she served as CEO of Edible, Inc., the food and beverage agency within Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, where she worked across the entire food ecosystem—from agtech to CPGs to restaurants. Some of her former clients include Kellogg’s, Jim Beam, Nestlé, El Pollo Loco, Cracker Barrel and Florida Department of Citrus.
She’s a master at driving business results and building high-performance teams from scratch, especially during times of big change. Karmen’s passionate about helping food and beverage companies tackle tough challenges, including sustainability, equity, and climate change.
Outside of work, Karmen is a recipe tester for America’s Test Kitchen, an amateur tour guide in the Bay Area, and sits on the advisory boards of the International Ocean Film Foundation (IOFF) and Giant Steps Equine Therapy. Originally from a family dairy farm in rural Minnesota, Karmen has lived in Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago, but now calls Sonoma home, soaking up all the goodness California’s wine country has to offer.
